PhD in Computer Science from the University of Buenos Aires. During his doctoral studies, he focused on parameter estimation in complex biological models, for which he received the YPF Foundation Award and the IBM PhD Fellowship. His research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence and neuroscience, with a focus on applying state-of-the-art AI in the field of mental health. He was awarded the prestigious Microsoft Faculty Fellow in 2014 and the Google Research Award LATAM for his work in this area. In 2023, he received the Konex Foundation Merit Diploma.
Currently, he is an independent researcher at the ICC Institute (CONICET) and a professor at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. Additionally, Diego is the co-founder of Entelai, a company dedicated to implementing AI in the healthcare field.
