Marcos MartÃn Ayerra is the Secretary of Small and Medium Enterprises, Entrepreneurs, and Knowledge Economy in Argentina. With a strong background in public policy and economic development, he is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting SMEs.
Before his current role, he served as an Independent Director at Seguros SURA Argentina and as a Board Member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), where he led the American Regulators Committee and co-led the working group on sustainable finance in emerging markets. He was also the President of the Comisión Nacional de Valores from December 2015 to February 2020. Earlier in his career, he held the position of Director of Corporate Development at BIOSIDUS, was a Partner at Infupa S.A. for nearly 15 years, and served as Vice President at Chase Securities Inc. for 11 years.
Ayerra holds a degree in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina and completed the Executive Management Program (PAD) at IAE Business School in 2006. He has extensive experience in strategic planning and project management within the public sector. His leadership emphasizes promoting innovation, enhancing competitiveness, and facilitating access to resources for entrepreneurs, significantly contributing to the growth of Argentina’s knowledge economy.
